4. Chichen Itza
Chichen Itza, located in Yucatan region in Mexico offers view of stunning archeological class of Maya civilization. The term Chichen Itza means ‘the mouth at the well of Itza’. It thought Itza means ‘water magicians’, deriving from the Maya dynasty for ‘magic’ and ‘a’ for ‘water’.
At Chichen Itza, El Castillo is the famous pyramid which dominates the site of Chichen Itza. Most of the sites in Chicken Itza, known for their odd sounds. If you clap once from one end of the Ball Court, it produces nine echoes at the center of the court. Additionally, a clap in front of the Kukulkan Pyramid creates an echo resembling the serpent’s chirp.
As Mayan were also of scientific views, here, on the north side of the Kukulkan Pyramid. It is a platform dedicated to the planet Venus. The Mayans devoted astronomers and the movements of Venus held special meaning to them, with it influencing the architecture of the ancient Mayan city.
Due to it’s so many qualities and point of attractions, Chichen Itza is attracting huge number of travelers. Also classified as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and in 1988 was enlisted as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Macchu Picchu, One of the seven wonders in the world as well as world heritage site of UNESCO. To be found in the Cusco Region,Urubamba Province, Machupicchu District in Peru. It 15th century Inca fortress situated on a mountain crest 2,430 meters about sea level. Machu Picchu lies in the southern hemisphere, 13.164 degrees south of the equator it is 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Cusco.
Macchu Picchu Structure built with a technique called “ashlar”. Stones are cut to fit together without mortar. Amazingly, not even a needle can fit in between two stones. Main wonder here, many of the stones that used to build the city weighed more than 50 tons. How did these stones get up the mountain? It is question for all.
This historic city of stone built without the aid of wheels or iron tools. It is also the best example of Inca engineering. More than 600 terraces prevent the city from sliding down the mountain. A water supply system extends over a length of about 1 km and so much scientific tools but no physical evidences. Really amazing! Many archaeologists believe that Machu Picchu constructed as a royal estate of sorts, the presence of elite residences in the northeast sector of the site backing that idea up.
Incas were spiritual, yes, Machu Picchu has a number of structures that would have enhanced the spiritual significance of the site. One of them, the “Temple of the Sun,” has an elliptical design similar to a sun temple found at the Inca capital of Cuzco.
Machu Picchu, declared a Peruvian Historic Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. In 2007, Machu Picchu voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide Internet poll.
The Taj Mahal, specially made by Shah Jahan in the remembrance of his most lovable wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1631. It situated on the southern bank of river Yamuna at Agra city in Uttar Pradesh state in India. This place is a classic example of Mughal architecture. It is in UNESCO’s seven wonder of modern world.
The clarity of the white marble, the superb ornamentation, valuable gemstones (including jade, crystal, lapis lazuli, amethyst and turquoise) used and its scenic location, all honors Taj Mahal as a sign of love. In real, This place is a mausoleum of Mughal emperor Shah jahan’s wife Begum Mumtaj Mahal.
The Taj Mahal is an ultimate blend of Islamic, Indian and Persian architecture. This famous mausoleum palace built over more than 20 years by more than 20,000 workers and assisted by 1000 elephants.
7.THE GREAT WALLS OF CHINA
One of modern world’s wonder, The Great walls of China is world’s longest wall and leading ancient architecture. Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China built the most admired section of Great Wall of China in b/w 220-206 BC.
The total length of Great Wall of China is 8851.8 km. Out of which 526 kilometers (327 miles) lies in Beijing region. Qin dynasty, Han dynasty and Ming dynasty were the main dynasty in Chinese histories. That were behind the creation of Great Wall of China.
The reason behind the creation of Great wall was clear it was not just for Protection or to hide. It was a fully planned military base with watch towers surveillance, fortresses for command posts and logistics, beacon towers for communications.
This fact is very adverse, that about 2,000 kilometers, or more than 30% of wall due to natural erosion and harsh activity of human has disappeared or without its originality.
