The Hunza Valley is a hilly valley in the Gilgit–Baltistan area. Hunza Valley is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Pakistan. The Hunza valley, often referred to as heaven on earth, enveloped in the grand Himalayas as well as the Karakoram mountain ranges; this place has been a great tourist attraction for many years.

The most interesting fact about valley is health of hunza people. The Hunza People are amazingly healthy and also free of disease. Many studies have been done and it believed that their simple healthy diet of carefully grown organic food and the glacial, living water is their secret to health and long life.

Water of Hunza valley is an example of perfect natural water. Hunza has people who routinely live to 120-140 years, in good health with virtually no cancer, degenerative disease, dental caries or bone decay. Hunza people remain robust and strong and are also able to bear children even in old age. Just because of their relation with nature and natural resources.

Apricot orchards are seen everywhere in Hunza, and a family’s economic stability is measured by the number of trees they have under cultivation. Besides apricots, the Hunza also grow and enjoy apples, pears, peaches, mulberries, black and red cherries, and grapes. Snow leopard, the black and the brown bears, otter, wolf, lynx, Himalayan ibex, markhor, bharal, Marco Polo’s sheep, shapu, musk deer are main animals found in Hunza valley.


Hunza valley provides views of several tall mountains. It including Rakaposhi 7,788 meters (25,551 ft), Ultar Sar 7,388 meters (24,239 ft), Bojahagur Duanasir II 7,329 meters (24,045 ft), Ghenta Sar 7,090 meters (23,261 ft), Hunza Peak 6,270 meters (20,571 ft), Darmyani Peak 6,090 meters (19,980 ft).

Attabad lake Hunza Valley-

A disaster turned Hunza River into a beautiful lake, few years back in a landslide two mountains meet together. And stopped the passage of Hunza River which later turned into Hunza Lake. The length of this lake is about 29.3 Kilometers and started from a small village known as Ganish.


The most romantic place at Hunza Valley is Passu. It offers awesome beauty of nature with its cool chilled enthralling atmosphere. Hence every year thousands of tourists rush to explore this mesmerizing small town.
